Emerging Collegiate Sports
*Requires a minimum of 20 varsity programs recognized by governing body. Includes emerging sports for all governing body's.
- Acrobatics & Tumbling - Offered in the NCAA by 48 schools in 24/25.
- Stunt - Approved to be included in NCAA DII and under consideration for DI and DIII.
- Women's Wrestling - Officially approved as an NCAA Championship sport in January 2025.
- Women’s Rugby - Offered in the NCAA by 27 schools in 24/25.
- Equestrian - Offered in the NCAA by 15 schools in DI and DII in 24/25.
- Women's Flag Football - Offered in the NAIA by 23 schools in 24/25 and looking at being added as an emerging sport for the NCAA.
